Top 5 ski spa properties to visit this season

If there’s one that your body craves after a long, hard day skiing out on the cold slopes of a ski resort, it’s some well-deserved time pampering yourself in a spa. From massive, modern wellness facilities to quirky and inventive spa lounges, here’s a list of our favourite spa hotels you should visit this season.

Backstage Vernissage Hotel, Zermatt

The Backstage Vernissage Hotel is a relatively new addition to Zermatt’s list of luxury hotels. The hotel is quirky and unique in design, with strong links to the Zermatt Unplugged music festival. The Hotel also incorporates a bar, dinner cinema, lounge-restaurant and regularly hosts club nights, art exhibitions and concerts.

However, the main focal point of this hotel is its spa, the spa is themed on the ‘seven days of creation’ and there are seven different spa cubes to experience such as the ‘plant world’, ‘cosmos’ and ‘water and air’. The spa also has a stainless steel jacuzzi in the centre of its terrace.

Chalet Marco Polo, Val d’Isère

Chalet Marco Polo is a super-luxury chalet set in the heart of the thriving Val d’Isère. The chalet is an open and spacious residence with a large lounge, bar-area and a terrace that offers wide panoramic views of the resort and also has an outdoor kitchen.

The spa is a real treat, the entire second floor of this chalet is completely dedicated to the expansive spa area. With an enormous pool, hot-tub and adjoining relaxation area with a bar and fireplace, the entire area is also lit with fun neon lights to give it a touch more decadence. As well as that there is also a gym and fitness suite and classic and automated hydro massage room.

Hotel St Regis Resort, Aspen

The Hotel St Regis in Aspen is an idyllic hotel at the base of Ajax mountain in Aspen. The Hotel is known for its fine artwork and antique furnishing, crystal chandeliers and huge roaring fireplaces.

The best part of this hotel is its amazing wellness and Remède spa facilities; with an oxygen lounge, fitness centre, indoor waterfalls, hot-tubs and cold plunges there really isn’t a single box this spa hasn’t ticked.

Hotel Kulm, St Moritz

Hotel Kulm opened in 1856 and was the first hotel in St Moritz, however, don’t let that lead you to think that its old fashioned, it’s quite the opposite. As a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, Hotel Kulm is under constant renovation to create more comfort and modern facilities for its clientele.

The spa has been generously updated over the years with a huge fitness suite, saunas, salt baths and an outdoor swimming pool with underwater music. The cherry on the icing of the cake, it all overlooks the fantastic St Moritz lake and its snow-capped alpine mountain peaks.

W Hotel Verbier

Mixing a perfect location with contemporary style and cutting-edge architecture the W Hotel is a truly stunning modern Alpine residence. Perched at 1’531 meters with immediate access to over 400 km of slopes.

The stylish 123 rooms & suites, each with fireplace and private balcony are perfect for an intimate escape after an exhilarating day outside. The fabulously stylish spa features nine individual treatment rooms, a fitness and gym complex, sauna and Jacuzzi and a luxurious indoor/outdoor swimming pool.
